Author- Sonia hartnett

A beautiful book with nowhere near as much fame as it deserves.Set in the American Great Depression of the 1900's, it is from the point of view of Harper flute, who becomes increasingly lonely as her siblings begin to leave her,so they can keep the families ever sinking heads above the water. Her child brother tin, is the Thursday's child, who, when a new baby is born, starts to dig, and is soon deeper in his own world than anyone can imagine...

It is truly one of the best books i have ever read, but as it refers todeath, should not be read by people who upset easily. I strongly reccomend it to 11-14 year old, perhaps older.
