Need Windows Vista help.

Subject: Need Windows Vista help. August 19th 2008, 10:43 pm

Well, my Windows Vista got set to "open .zip files in default program" and now it's opening them in Notepad, and I can't just regularly open them anymore meaning no Game Maker games without the .gmk files, no more fonts and other various files. I have tried saying "never open this file with a default program" but it's not working. Any help, people? I searched Windows' website and nothing significant came up.

And don't tell me I need a Mac. I am not getting one.

Try right clicking and choosing open with, then click browse, and go to WINDOWS, then to system32 and search for something that looks like it will open zip's. If you find it, click ok, then if there an option to "Always use this program when opening this type of file," make sure to check that box.

And, I'm not asking or telling you to get one, but it wouldn't hurt to get a mac :P

Look man, I don't want a Mac, can you please just not post if you don't have support? I need quick support because I am getting thoroughly ticked for even clicking "always open this file type with this program."

And Waddle, what should I look for in System32?

I say instead of opening the file, save it and then extract it and right click>>Install.

Stuffit said it was for PC but was for money, so I figured if you're desperate enough to have a unarchiver than there you go.

Try using WinRAR, search WinRAR on google.

I've used WinRAR, it's great.

I don't know if it's good for unarchiving, but maybe..

It works for zips if you want it to, or you can use IZArc

Seriously though, HP, if you can find the sys32 file for zip's, you should get WinRAR or IZArc
