What song, in terms of sheer musical brilliance, or amazing lyrics, or a fantastic combination of the two, do you feel everyone should hear before they die? Not in terms of "your favourite song" but in terms of what it offers to other people.

The fact that a topic can go almost two months with just one reply is pretty disappointing to me...especially because this is actually a good subject for a topic. Paying no mind to bumping rules, considering that this is still on the first page of the Music forum..I would think that, on a forum full of teenagers, music would be a lot more popular. Guess not. :P

Lazarus by Porcupine Tree stands out to me as a really beautiful song. The piano is wonderful and the lyrics are both well done and heartbreaking. Despite the stupid name for the song and the band, it's really worth a listen.

Fix You by Coldplay also kind of stands out in my mind, but mostly because it's been stuck in my head for the past couple days. It's really a good song, though.

Excellent choices. I especially like those Ke$ha songs you mentioned; if you plan on dying from a severe ear infection (unprotected ear-rape is bad for you, kids), you should definitely pick up some of her songs.
