Super Mario Sluggers Wii Review Empty
PostSubject: Super Mario Sluggers Wii Review   Super Mario Sluggers Wii Review EmptyJuly 10th 2011, 11:41 pm

I thought I would start my specialist career with a game that alot of people wonder about:

Super Mario Sluggers Wii:

Story Line:
Like many Mario Sports games it's story isn't all that long. Princess Peach takes the gang to a island to play some baseball! But when they get there Bowser Jr. is causing trouble with his minions, it's up to you to stop him by beating him and his team of minions at a game of baseball.

List of Captains:
Yoshi
Mario
Daisy
Luigi
Princess Peach
Donkey Kong
Diddy Kong
Bowser
Bowser Jr.
Wario
Waluigi
Birdo

Challenge Mode:
During the challenge mode you start as Mario and Travel around the 5 starter ball parks (Yoshi's park, Wario City, Mario Stadium, Peach's Ice Garden, and Dk's Jungle) Along the way you meet up with various characters who are willing to join your team... That is if you can beat them in a challenge game! all the way you will meet 40 new characters that will join your team, including other captains that will have special abilities that will help you beat this mode. When you have gathered enough players it's time to take on Bowser Jr.'s team of minions! When you beat him Bowser appears and you can then challenge him when you are ready. After beating him they will both join your team and you have beaten challenge mode! You can now challenge any captain in there ballpark.

Free Play Mode:
This is where this game truly shines. You can play baseball games against you friends or the computer. With 42 playable characters, tons of tips and tricks to use and many different items to use, there are no shortage of options. You can choose from any of the starter stadiums or some of 4 you will unlock each with there own obstacles. Baseball with the chaotic Mario touch... Gotta love it :P You can also play one of the mini games that each ball park has.

Features I liked:
Large amount of characters
Many interesting Cutscenes
Fun Game Play
The use of your Miis

Features I didn't like
No online
An easy repetitive challenge mode
Lousy pitch camera angles

Overall:
This game can be a ton of fun to play, but a lack of online play and a boring but necessarily challenge mode hold it back. "People who didn't play Mario Superstar Baseball may be more forgiving, but the whole presentation has a fuzzy, unpleasant, phoned-it-in feel." All in all it still a very fun game, playable buy all ages and a blast to play with friends!

I give it an 8/10 score overall.
