My first stock i know its bad

Well, it looks like its a stock and then a space stock placed over it and set to either lighten or screen. Add some more effects, maybe try to clear up the focal a bit to.

Try using some different strategies such as C4D's, smudging, filters, Gradient maps, etc. Theres alot to do with Gimp/PS you just have to experiment with the tools.

Well, since it's your first good job, looks like you have some concept on it, but you could erase some parts over your focal, and burn some too, to make it look better, those star brushes look too uniform too, try to make it look sloppy...
