Help in Gimp

I can't figure out gimp. I'm trying to make a new sig, but I just can't figure it out! Can anyone help? :S

This belongs in the Gallery section, but anyhoozel....
To open click "File" then go to "new" then try and find a tut. That's the best general advice.

Try some tuts. GIMP can be really complicated, and tuts can be the best way to get a feel for it.

Could you be a little more specific? What do you need help with? You can't figure out how to use Gimp? You can't figure out how to open a new document? Please explain.
