Bandwagon Fans

I don't know if you are as touchy on this as I am, because this really makes me mad.

The Bandwagon Fan

Definition:

Someone who likes a sports team based on past or recent success or popularity of the media.

I HATE THESE FANS. I really see them a lot on forums and in real life. I am a straight up Dallas Cowboy, Texas Ranger, Dallas Maverick, and Texas A&M Aggie fan because I am from Dallas.

The Cowboys have a LOT of bandwagon fans from other states that like us because we are the Cowboys, and they show no loyalty to the team. I see this a lot with the Red Sox, the Dodgers, and the Yankees. The Eagles, the Giants, the Patriots. The Lakers and the Cavaliers.

So let's say the Rangers are having a bad season, and we are playing the Red Sox and getting crushed, then some "fan" who says they like the Red Sox starts rubbing it in my face that we are losing and saying the Rangers suck, and I ask them where they are from and they say Florida, that makes me infuriated. I just want to punch that person in the face. They don't show loyalty to their home team, and make fun of me for doing it. Well screw them. If they were from Boston and had a legit reason for liking the Red Sox, more power to them, but they don't.

This is the same with the Lakers, the Cavs, the Florida Gators, etc. SHOW LOYALTY TO A TEAM, or KEEP YOUR MOUTH SHUT.

So many kids do this, it gets really annoying. I like mainly Chicago teams and a few other ones that aren't even very succesful. I call these people "Glory Supporters" because they only support good teams.

I just call them bandwagon fans because that's who they are. If anyone on this forum is please say so now to save yourself from my infuriation. XD

I hate people who follow the bandwagon. Why can't fans just stick to one team or at least not just bandwagon. I don't see a lot of bandwagons for the Eagles. I think their fan base might be underrated. Oh, I hate LA baseball bandwagons. They could at least show some love for the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim.

Well, being from Florida doesn't necessarily mean you like Florida teams (I like the White Sox and I'm not even sure where they are from =\. I'm not very sporty). But I get your point, and I do hate it when someone jumps the bandwagon on things like sports.

But really next year when hockey starts there are gonna be so many Penguins fans because they beat the all-mighty Red Wings. And then theres the Red Wings fans of course for their amazing success the past 17 years....
