Fallout New Vegas: Old World Blues Downth10

Quote :
In Old World Blues, releasing in June, you will discover how some of the Mojave’s mutated monsters came to be when you unwittingly become a lab rat in a science experiment gone awry. You’ll need to scour the Pre-War research centers of the Big Empty in search of technology to turn the tables on your kidnappers or join forces with them against an even greater threat.

All downloadable content for Fallout: New Vegas will be available for download on Xbox LIVE® for 800 Microsoft Points, the PlayStation®Network for $9.99, and both Steam and Direct2Drive for $9.99.

Bethesda are clearly running late, seeing as the press release was from waay back. Nevertheless, it'll be interesting to see how the DLC shapes up in comparison to Honest Hearts and Dead Money. I've played bits of Dead Money, but the story is grotesque and messy. Having six key characters in one DLC probably didn't help. The whole casino-based plot was something most people were bored of after finishing the main story, so it's a shame they didn't venture out and try something new.
As for Honest Hearts, I've been waiting to see a few reviews before purchasing. StrategyInformer gave it 5.5/10, which isn't exactly a resounding approval.
I'm hoping that Old World Blues will be used to tie up a few issues that Obsidian left in order to rush the release. The plot seems to be a bit trivial, as have been the other DLCs. Beyond that, I can only hope that FO4 is coming some time soon.
Has anyone else played Honest Hearts? I'm beginning to lose all hope in Bethesda's DLC abilities.

Edit: there's also a huge patch released http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Fallout:_New_Vegas_patch_1.4.0.525

I wanted to check out both the DLCs, but never caught on to if they were worth it.

And wow that is a huge patch.

Only one that wasn't worth it was Dead Money, that was stupid.

I LOVED Dead Money! It was extremely hard, but that just added to the game value. I also thought it was 100 times better than Honest Hearts. Honest Hearts was just a cakewalk and overall pretty boring. You'd think Joshua Graham would lead a more significant life rather than loading pistols with ammo his whole life.

Since I am such a fanatic, I will be getting Old World Blues the day it comes out. If anyone needs a review on it, I'll be glad to provide one.

I heard mixed opinions on it, I just didn't enjoy it, Honest hearts I thought was okay, could have been better. But old world blues looks soooo interesting.

I agree. Especially since it discusses how all the creatures became mutated. I think the last one looks the most interesting of all. You supposedly meet the Courier who didn't want to deliver the Platinum Chip to Mr. House and end up fighting him.

Yes, it should be rather interesting to see what happens with it.

It wasn't just one person though? I thought House said he went through a couple different couriers until he found the right one?

Also, this should be soon as playing earlier I realized that the trophies are already listed in game. So I'm guessing the game is set for the DLC, it just hasn't released.

I should probably read-up on things before posting.

I know, right? Haha.

For all of the Black Ops map packs, I'd wake up up at 3 or 4 AM. Even though they regularly came out at 5. cry

Haha, I need to go pick up a PSN card and then I might get it. Tell me how it is tomorrow!

For Black Ops, I would set like 4 differents alarms. 2 at like 3 so that it'd be loud enough, and then 2 others for like 10 minutes later just incase I wasn't up yet. Haha

OK, so I bought it, played it, and beat it...all in a day. It was an amazing add on. There are many perks, weapons, and other items that make the add on actually worthwhile to have. Not only that, but you also get your own house, complete with an Auto-Doc and other machinery that could really help you in the game. The actually story is hilarious and the characters are even more funny. The map is pretty big for the most part, and you could go back to it whenever you want. Well worth the $10 considering it's probably one of the best add ons between both Fallout games.

A day? Wow. I hope it wasn't too short.

I might buy this. I don't have time for a strung out and detailed story but would like to check out a few new things.

Ha, no it wasn't short at all. If you get it, you'll enjoy it. There's a lot of conversation in the beginning, but the rest of the DLC makes up for it. It's just to explain some things about what's going on. It's a good story, but not too detailed or anything.
