Road Trip!--Where to?

Well, every year, me and my dad go on a road trip. But this year leaves us completely stumped... We have know clue where to go... Do you people have any ideas? Here are the limitations:
-car ride must be under 24 hours from Chicago
-must be in the U.S.A.
Those are the only limits... And this is my only place I've thought of:
-Wisconsin Dells...

Please gimme ideas if you can!

Michigan or California, in my opinion :D

California has great beaches. Alot of things to do there, Michigan is really nice aswell. The weather is great there and when you look out onto the lake its beatiful.(I'm sure you've seen that before though since you live in Chicago.)
