flash prmoblem

Ok I make my thing convert it to a symbol then select it and press f9 so i could add actions to it and it says this current selection cannot have actions aplied to it. I dont get it how can i action script a button or a movie clip....

You just add action to it. Maybe there is a bug in your Flash? Try right clicking on it and then clicking on "Actions".

I think he has previously used Flash 8, I ran into this when I wanted to add actions to a movie clip for the first time using CS3 in AS 3.0 mode. You simply cannot add actions to movie clips with Actionscript 3.0, sorry..
