Has anyone been to the beacon recently? Apparently you can turn the light off by flipping the switch. Try it and see for yourselves!

A lot of people say this is a glitch from the easter party.
You could turn off the switch and the egg would be the bulb.
HOWEVER, I think that CP just decided to keep that feature, because it is kinda cool when you think about it...

I don't usually go to the beacon, so I never really paid attention to any changes. Not everyone visits a particular room, after all.
