| Imagine a forum where you can make a change... Where you can make a difference... Where users, moderators, and admins can work together. Make a vote. If you agree with this, then post so. If we get enough votes, these'll be put into effect. -Moderator Elections Users elect moderators. In order to counter voter-fraud, it'll be that if they have more than 200 posts, they can vote. -Moderator Disciplined iIf over 21 users want a staff member out, they will be forced to resign. Of course, to counter double accounting, the people signing the petition must have over 210 posts. -Equality between staff and users. All admins and moderators follow the forum rules and can be infracted for such. Now, compare it to what we have now. Now, we don't get to decide who the moderators and who they aren't and the limits the moderators and admins will no longer have free-reign. It'll be more like a fair government, not a hierarchy . | |

| Thread is very straight forward and well thought out. It does not seem like we need a mod election right now though but if that's what users want, then why not... I was actually thinking of making a staff infraction system but I was having second thoughts. I was feeling that mods would find it unfair that we would be able to control them and control ourselves and we could easily lie about our infractions. | |

Well, that's how most users feel. And I don't think we need a mod election now, but it would be nice to have the option.

| Brian, you are a genius. Staff infractions are a good idea. For example, if a staff member gives an unfair infraction, they get a staff infraction. At 5 infractions, they are off the staff but if elected they can come back. If they come back and get 5 infractions, than it's game over, they aren't banned but can never be staff again. | |

Or maybe instead of a perma-ban, just not being staff again. EVAR!

| No, were not having mod elections "because the users feel like it" Unless we need them, no. i cant stand mod elections. Anyway infractions on the forum are silly and arent taken seriously. I mean, infractions are whiped after a little while, i find that veryyyy silly. | |

| We might as well just have a whole new moderator election I think. I mean, some of the mods we have now aren't the best, but we have some good ones, we might as well just see what the whole userface thinks. | |

| I don't think this will work. I think we should all just keep posting and let the moderators do their jobs, we don't all need to be in on it. | |

I'm with you on that. The issue with staff infractions is that it would be limited to just Moderators, because Admins could be able to lie about it. With the moderator election- I disagree. The Mods are fine, there is no need to change them. Unless we were to replace some of the younger mods with older users, I cannot imagine the change being any use.

Three staff infractions would put that staff member in probation, five would have him/her demoted altogether. I don't, however, think a mod election is necessary at the moment. Maybe in the future.

| If a staff member gets an infraction they should be demoted. Skip the whole "staff infractions" idea and just treat them like regular members. | |

What then? Better to have the option. And what's wrong with staff infractions? They'll be given out when deserved. It's not like they'll be given out because someone doesn't like someone else. - Dan wrote:
