Is anything foolproof? Your right this was not supposed to be a popularity contest, which it has turned to be, not that it wasn't forming already. By restarting the contest it will cause all you candidates to go out and campaign even more now that most of your biggest supporters already think they voted.

And hows it immature if I ask a freind to vote they can say no but they said
yes so their choice.

It's not against the law. But it is immature. This isn't a popularity contest. That's why you shouldn't ask your friends. People should vote for you if they think you are the best choice.
