Is it worth it?

I don't have any consoles except a mainly forgotten Wii, and with all these console-only games coming out, I can't help but wonder if I should buy an Xbox 360. I don't know, it feels like it's a bit late to jump on that bandwagon.

Why Xbox? PS3, please no one start a 'war', is the better system.

With the Kinect just coming out, you don't have to worry about a new system just yet. I bought my 360 recently, so it's not "too late".

And you can't say it's the best multiplayer experience, PS3 is the exact same. Glare

Personally through my experience, PS3 has less teammates on CoD and BC2 that used teamwork and communication.

I'm not a big fan of multiplayer and first person shooters in general. Is it still worth it?

XBOX 360 is the best out there. Great GFX, awesome multiplayer system (XBOX Live is only $5 a month), lots of gaming choices. You should definitely get it.

Then get PS3. PS3 is better for sports and Campaign wise. Kinect isn't that good and no good games came out for it yet.

Xbox is no better unless they try, which I hardly see.
But, the chances of getting into a lobby with talking users is greater on the Xbox for one reason, the mics come with the system. For PS3 you have to fork up extra money, which many won't do if they aren't into gaming.

Yes, definitely. I play a lot of storyline games, which would be cool with MP but, oh well. Like just off the top of my head, L.A. Noire, Heavy Rain (PS3 only), God of War 3 (PS3 only), etc.

I agree with you there, it is cool. I might not buy one yet, but by the time Tom Clancy comes out late next year, I'll probably have one. I'm not much into the motion gaming, but Xbox would win me over if any.

Not sure about that, but you can still buy it online too.

Kinect, from what I saw at E3, is going to be a big focus over the next while and sure seems like it'll be good. Maybe not now though, I don't really keep up with it at this point.

Call of Duty* map packs come out earlier. Because Xbox got a contract going with Activision to get early releases for like the next year at least.

I like Xbox Live mainly because most of my friends have it so it's easier to get in big parties and play. Which I think is the most fun anyway.

Xbox's multiplayer is better than PS3's even though I haven't tried Xbox's. In PS3, you can't even communicate with your teammates because only 1/12 of them have a mic.

This is true, but I haven't played so much Xbox online that I could criticise it.
Here's some Cons and Pro's of the PS3.

Pro's: Free online.
Good bluray.
It's exclusive games, U3, Heavy Rain, GT5, KZ3, LBP, Resistance (not much of a fan of Resistance)
PS move, supports many games, whether it's FPS, Action and many others.
Cons: Costs alot, which is somewhat why people think it's a worthless console.
Not alot of mics.
Somewhat the CoD community, will be annoying, but then again, it's CoD.

To be honest my PS3 broke only once, that's because I had it in... urgh, when that first Ratchet and Clank for PS3 came out, 08-ish.
Also since it was an old model, I had the slim for 1-2 years now, it's hasn't broken on me.
Still, your choice.

If you are looking to play with your friends, get a 360. A lot more people I know have 360s than PS3s.

Actually, they cost about the same depending on what you are looking at. A 250gb Xbox is as much as a PS3. Or a 4gb Xbox with a Kinect is as much as a PS3. If you want a 250gb Xbox with a Kinect, then it's like $400.

I don't know if they sell just a 4gb Xbox, probably and if so it'd be less I'm sure, but I only remember the ones above. I have a 250gb Xbox, no Kinect.

And the thing with the mic is, Xbox comes with a mic in the box. PS3, you have to buy your own. If you aren't that much into MP gaming, which is more so Xbox's focus point, then you probably won't buy one.

That doesn't mean every PS3 is good. If it was under warranty you could send it in?

That's the kicker. If you want to play with real friends, the Xbox is the way to go. I have real friends on both systems, but more of them on the Xbox.
