Game Maker question

I just downloaded Game Maker 7.0 the pro version, and was surprised to find that less than a week later, my virus scanner isolated two files: Dialer-182 and Proxy-OSS. One is a porn dialer and the latter appears to be a spyware. I'm very suspicious that they are related to the Game Maker that I downloaded. Anyone else have this problem? Thanks.

I wouldn't think it is from GameMaker.

GameMaker is made by YoYo Games, a well known and respected company. I could be wrong, but that is what I think.

After deleting the Proxy-OSS, it was found again the following week, and the detail on the item says it is linked with "softwrap", which is exactly what the registration upgrade on my credit card was billed under. Sleazy people. I'll have to wait and see if it keeps popping up on my virus checker every week.

You either downloaded a hacked version or your Anti-Virus is screwed up. I'm bettin on the latter if you got it from the official site, try scanning your computer with a different anti-virus program and see what comes up.

I went to yoyo games and downloaded from the official website and upgraded it following instructions. I use McAfee virus scanner. YoYo Games seems to be a very reputable entity in the gaming community, so maybe the softwrap distribution company is sneaking something in. I want to add that the porn dialer may be unrelated to the GameMaker install but the Proxy-OSS gets reinstalled on my system every time I open the program, and McAfee keeps flagging it. It may be legit. I sent an inquiry to the folks at YoYo Games.

Thanks for your replies. I do feel better about YoYo games. I think Game Maker 7.0 is an excellent program, and would love to continue working with it.
