PostSubject: Windows 7   Windows 7 EmptyAugust 7th 2009, 2:37 pm

As a Mac user, I don't really care about Windows 7. But, for PC users, it promises to be a cheap* and stable upgrade, with a new interface.

Are you upgrading?

*Nowhere near as cheap as Snow Leopard's $29, though :P

You can get Windows 7 for free for a year on their website.
It's a bit too heavy to download in a way.

I'm running it on a virtual PC.
It's quite good, but I still prefer Ubuntu Linux.

You have no idea what you're talking about. Bing is an online search engine, like Google or Yahoo. Windows 7 has nothing to do with Bing, apart from the fact that they're both made by the same company.

I can't wait to get Windows 7 being stuck with crappy Vista. I should have went with the 49.99 deal in July but my dad was being stubborn. I guess I'll have to wait until they have another deal like they proposed they would.

No there isn't. There's already a Windows 8 in development. It's nowhere near release yet, and you're going off-topic.

Windows 7's main job is to try and fix Vista's problems, whilst adding a bit extra to make it look like it's more than that (even though it isn't really).

You've probably heard reviews for the betas, then. The actual Windows 7 is more stable. (But still terrible :P )

I want a mac SOOO BAD.
The layout is so smexy.
I'm saving up for a macbook so I wont have to use the desktop computer I have now.

The only visual thing about windows 7 I like is the taskbar.

The vista one is so ugly I hide it and use Rocket dock.
With the Mac OS X dock theme of course Raise Eyebrows

How would you know if it's terrible when the full version didn't even come out yet?

I was actually referring to the feature set in comparison to Macs, not the stability. Strangely enough, companies tell you what they're making when they release the betas. I meant that the features in Windows 7 are still inferior to the features in Macs.

Exposé, Spaces, better UI, more intuitive, faster, simpler, more stable, more powerful, less susceptible to infection, brilliant built-in software, UNIX-based, built for the computers it runs on, comes with better hardware, everything from one company, it's just a huge improvement over Windows.
